1535nm Erbium Glass Laser with Eye-Safe Wavelength
1. Definition and Core Characteristics
Definition
The 1535nm erbium glass laser with eye-safe wavelength is a diode-pumped solid-state laser that uses erbium-doped glass (Er) as the gain medium, with an output wavelength of 1535nm.
Core Characteristics
-
Eye Safety
The safe standard wavelength range of 1.4–2μm belongs to the eye-safe band, among which 1.54μm is the safest. The 1535nm erbium glass laser with eye-safe wavelength falls into the Class 1 safety laser category. It has a high absorption rate (over 90%) by the lens, so only a small amount of laser light can reach the retina, significantly reducing the risk of retinal damage. -
Superior Adaptability
Erbium-doped glass features high stability and wide temperature adaptability. It has a low thermal expansion coefficient and strong thermal shock resistance, enabling stable operation within the temperature range of -40℃ to 65℃ without the need for an additional temperature control system. This makes it suitable for field or extreme environments.
2. Technical Characteristics
-
Compact and Portable
Adopting semiconductor packaging technology and bonded body packaging technology (bonded crystals based on erbium glass and cobalt spinel), it is also known as the 1535nm microchip laser. It has a small size, stable performance, consistent single-pulse energy, and excellent beam quality. The minimum volume is only 2.5g, and it can output a pulse energy of 100μJ. -
Diode-Pumped Solid-State Laser
ERDI Technology's erbium glass laser uses a laser diode as the pump source. The pump light is injected into the glass laser gain medium through an optical system. It has the advantages of high absorption efficiency, long service life, high reliability, excellent beam quality, and a compact design. -
Customizable Design
ERDI TECH provides customization services for 1535nm erbium glass lasers with eye-safe wavelength. According to different application requirements, it can customize lasers with different parameters, including repetition frequency (5 Hz–5 kHz) and pulse output (5 µJ–10 mJ).
1535nm Eye-Safe Laser Rangefinder Modules
These modules adopt the assembly and calibration of erbium glass bonded crystal lasers independently developed by ERDI. The entire product line, from erbium glass to lasers and then to rangefinders, is independently researched and developed. With a unique structural design, they deliver excellent performance and have unique advantages in product stability and cost compared with similar products in the industry.
ERDI TECH's erbium glass distance measurement modules offer models with a range of 3km to 18km for customers to choose from. Their main features include long measuring range, high accuracy, portability, continuous distance measurement, and concentrated laser beam. Customization is also available, with various interfaces and PC software provided to meet customers' diverse product needs.
Taking the company's ERDI LASER® LRF1830C laser rangefinder as an example, this distance measurement module uses a self-developed erbium glass laser and operates based on the single-pulse time-of-flight (TOF) principle. It can achieve accurate distance measurement of up to 18km for targets of 4m × 6m. Its main advantages are as follows:
-
Independently designed and manufactured by ERDI, ensuring better cost control, long-term stability, and performance consistency.
-
Adopting the single-pulse time-of-flight principle, it can achieve a measuring range of ≥18km for targets of 4m × 6m under 30% reflectivity, making it an ideal choice for long-range reconnaissance and optoelectronic systems.
-
Supports multi-target distance measurement (up to three targets) and adjustment of measuring frequency (0.5–10Hz).
-
Equipped with an RS422 serial interface, embedded software, and communication protocols, it can be seamlessly integrated into systems and supports secondary development.
-
Strong environmental adaptability, capable of operating in an environment of -40~+70℃. Practical tests have shown that it meets the MIL-STD-810G shock standard, with high durability and stability.
We believe that with our unremitting pursuit of quality and progress, we will become the first choice for top-tier laser solutions.
