ERDI LASER®Long Range Laser Rangefinder: Empower Precision Measurement

In the modern field of optoelectronic detection and mapping, long-range laser rangefinders have become an indispensable key component in drones, optical sensors, military target recognition, and industrial ranging systems. ERDI TECH, leveraging its continuous deep research and development in the field of optoelectronic ranging over the years, has launched a long-range laser ranging module suitable for drones and optical sensors. This module adopts an independently developed erbium glass laser and can achieve precise ranging of 4m×6m targets up to 18 kilometers. This article will mainly introduce the LRF1525C of ERDI LASER® 15km laser ranging module.

ERDI LASER® 15km Laser Ranging Module

The ERDI LASER® 15km Laser Ranging Module (LRF1525C) emits pulsed laser through the emission aperture and receives signals through the receiving aperture. Based on the round-trip time of the signals, the distance to the target is obtained. In the design, an erbium glass laser produced independently by ERDI is adopted, with an output wavelength of 1535nm and a pulse energy of no less than 500μJ. Therefore, it is also called an erbium glass laser ranging module. ERDI has a complete industrial line for 1535nm laser ranging, from erbium glass lasers to ranging modules. The entire production process is fully controlled by ERDI, ensuring the quality and stability of the product to the greatest extent.

Main Features of ERDI LASER® 15km Laser Ranging Module

1) Excellent optical system and signal processing

  • The divergence beam angle is ≤ 0.3 mrad, the laser energy is concentrated, and it can precisely focus on the target, ensuring sufficient energy for the target to reflect back to the receiver at 15km, improving the stability of long-distance ranging.

  • Equipped with a Φ60mm large-aperture receiving lens, it can better capture the weak signals from long-distance reflections, ensuring the accuracy of ranging.

2) Strong environmental adaptability and military-grade reliability

  • Passes the MIL-STD-810G military-level shock and vibration test standards, capable of withstanding harsh shock environments, with military-grade reliability.

  • Wide temperature working environment application: -40°C to +70°C, storage temperature can reach -55°C to +75°C.

3) Low power consumption and system integration advantages

  • Average power consumption ≤ 2W, peak power consumption ≤ 3W, standby power consumption ≤ 1.2W;

  • The entire machine weighs ≤ 400g, the volume is 125×85×58.5mm, suitable for drone pods, small optical systems integration.

  • Equipped with embedded software and PC host application

  • quipped with RS422 interface, signal is stable and reliable

4) Support mode adjustment, multi-functionality

  • Single pulse and continuous ranging mode (frequency adjustable: 1–10Hz)

  • Equipped with distance filtering, front and rear target indication and self-diagnosis functions (monitoring internal voltage, temperature, etc.)

In addition, ERDI supports parameter customization, OEM/ODM services, to meet the integration requirements of different systems.
