High-Frequency Integrated LiDAR: Empowering Robots’ Real-Time Ranging

With the in-depth integration of modern technological development, the research, development and application of robots have entered a period of rapid growth. According to the "2025 World Robotics Report" released by the International Federation of Robotics, the scale of the robot market in 2024 has nearly doubled compared with that a decade ago, which indicates a promising prospect for the development of robots. No robot can do without the obstacle avoidance, navigation and positioning functions provided by the distance sensor system. As a technology company focusing on laser ranging, ERDI has launched a high-frequency integrated LiDAR specially designed for industrial robots, endowing robots with the ability to grasp real-time environmental conditions.

In terms of design, this LiDAR ranging module is compact in design. Among them, the largest-sized ranging module has dimensions of only 33 x 34 x 18 mm and a weight of 20±2 g. Take the LRF22VB model with a ranging range of 22 meters as an example, it has dimensions of 21 x 15 x 7.43 mm and a weight of only 1.5 g, which is very suitable for the ranging requirements of small-volume robots on the market. In addition, this LiDAR ranging module adopts UART/IIC communication interfaces, which are compatible with common systems on the market, enabling easy integration.

In terms of system functions, this integrated LiDAR adopts DTOF (Direct Time of Flight) technology, featuring long ranging distance, high accuracy and strong anti-interference capability, which is fully suitable for robot applications in complex environments. Secondly, this series takes high-frequency ranging as its main advantage and supports frequency adjustment, allowing users to select an appropriate frequency according to specific applications. Take the 100m~300m module as an example, its maximum ranging frequency can reach 10 kHz, which can capture rapidly changing targets and adapt to scenarios where robots move at high speeds; for simple applications of small robots, a ranging frequency of 100 Hz can be selected, which meets the ranging requirements while maintaining low power consumption. In addition, this series of LiDAR has a ranging accuracy of centimeter level (±5~10 cm) in short-distance range, and even for a distance of 1500 meters, it can maintain a ranging accuracy of ±1 m at a frequency of 1 kHz. It also has a certain ability to resist environmental interference (100 KLux), which is sufficient to cover the application scenarios of most robots. It is a LiDAR module that integrates ranging capability, cost-effectiveness and adaptability, and is very suitable for the ranging requirements of small and medium-sized robots.

In terms of safety and compliance requirements, ERDI TECH has obtained ISO, FDA and CE certifications. Moreover, this series of modules adopts a wavelength of 905 nm and complies with the Class 1 photobiological safety standard, which can reduce harm to the human body during use.

In conclusion, the high-frequency integrated LiDAR system launched by ERDI TECH this time is an automated radar sensor that integrates design, functionality, practicality and safety, and is specially designed for small and medium-sized robots. In addition, this series supports customized services. Welcome to contact ERDI TECH for communication.
